7.3.13 - The Process

To create the poster there were a number of stages which I had to go through to complete the final advert. Here are the stages which I went through to complete my poster:

Stage 1:  I needed to find an image of the artist - as I was not able to use my own image for this I was able to find an older image of her. By using a mask I was able to black and white the rest of the image and erase the mask on the lips so that they were the only thing in colour - the red lips linked to the motif of romance. By isolating the red of her lips I have been able to create a more dramatic and dynamic view of the artist.

Stage 2: I research a many different text style in the process of deciding the typography on my advert. I knew at the start of this project that I wanted a different text style in the main title and the banner at the bottom of the poster. I wanted something that stood out from the main image but portrayed the romantic theme. Therefore I settled on 'Neuo' on Dafont.
I then changed the colour so that the typography was within the colour palate of red, the 'C' is larger for dramatic effect

To separate the artists name and the name of the album I used a simple white line as I did not want to distract the audience significant text.

Stage 3: My original image is the banner and rather than having a block shape I wanted the rose motif to feature in this section of the project as well. Although I did not want the banner to hide her face I lowered the image to below the artist's chin, but also reduced the opacity to 62% so that the audiences eyes are drawn to the red lips and then to the extract information.

Stage 4: First to be added to the banner is a review, to emphasise the popularity of my artist, followed by the exclusive extras which make the Digipak a Digipak as this is a difference between a normal album and a Digipak.

Stage 5: To show that my artist is popular and that the Digipak can be purchased I inserted image iTunes and Facebook, which are most relevant to the modern target audience.

Stage 6: The final section was the Digipak itself on the bottom part of the advert, mine appears on the bottom right hand corner. To create some variety I decided to take the picture of the Digipak at an angle .
